Stoplights
in the early 2000's, energy upgrades to the us transportation infrastructure rendered the original borosilicate stoplight lens obsolete. THe special type of glass doesn't recycle, so we did. the new lamp series resulted in delight as a novel way to experience a deeply etched memory.
Scope:
Founded (Greenlight Concepts in 2002) and designed new uses for lens rescue operation.
Our suspension lamp solution was was derived after realizing that only a small fraction of the light should pass through the lense while the majority of the light should remain white for effective interior applications. We designed a compact fixture that fit into a hole we drilled into the lens solving both requirements. Our Bucket Lamp is a more decorative fixture that creates a small "pond" of colored light by setting the lens within an upside down lampshade.
